| Featuring former members of Deep Purple and Vai, Whitesnake were a massively succesful band in the 1980s off the back of huge hits like Here I Go Again and Is This Love. Seen by many as one of the best British glam rock groups of its generation, early material has been compared by critics to Deep Purple but by the mid eighties, Whitesnake had moved away from the early blues-rock influenced heavy metal to a more commercial hard rock style. They were recently named the 85th Greatest hard rock band of all time by VH1 and have sold more than 100 million records worldwide. |
