Officially licensed. The 1980 Winter Games were held in Lake Placid, New York and were filled with impressive performances! The great Swedish skier, Ingemar Stenmark, won both the giant slalom and the slalom, Hanni Wenzel did the same in the women’s races and her nation, Liechtenstein, became the smallest country to produce an Olympic champion. Oh and we can’t not mention our home grown stars, Torvill and Dean, who, after coming 5th in the games, gave up their jobs to skate full time and then went on to become the national heroes they are now!
