| Iron Maiden are an English heavy metal band from east London, formed in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris, formerly a member of Gypsy's Kiss and Smiler. One of the most successful and influential bands in the heavy metal genre, they've sold 80 million albums worldwide and won the Ivor Novello award for international achievement in 2002. Known for such powerful hits as "Two Minutes to Midnight" and "The Trooper," the often-imitated band existed for over 20 years, pumping out wild rock and setting the rock scene for the 80's. |
